Punaluu beach is the main black sand beach on the Big Island of Hawaii. Honu is the Hawaiian word for the green sea turtles in this area. The honu love the black sand beach and can be see there often. The water is rich with food and the black sand retains the heat making it a nice place for a Honu nap! Watercolor on Arches cold pressed.
